2016 CONSERVATION DAY
Challenges and Conflicts in Building Conservation
Our annual Conservation Day was held on Wednesday 23rd November 2016 at The Chantry House, Henley on Thames, a beautiful Grade I medieval timber framed building. The day comprised of a series of informative and thought-provoking presentations by distinguished specialists in their fields.
Richard Oxley, Director of Oxley Conservation Ltd, spoke on the subject of retrofit and whether it is causing new problems for old buildings.
Nigel Copsey, a stonemason and building conservator, gave a presentation on the history of hot limes with examples of different hot limes. His talk was followed by a practical demonstration.
Ian Mawditt, Director and Building Performance Researcher of Four Walls, spoke on ventilation with regard to energy efficiency and old buildings.
Peter King, Sales and Operations Manager for Aereco spoke about ventilation systems.
The day was well received with positive feedback for an excellent, very well run and informative day.
